Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants won their second game in a row, defeating the Medicine Hat Tigers 6-0 on Wednesday night at the Pacific Coliseum. Ty Ronning notched a natural hat trick while the Giants also got goals from Chase Lang, Dylan Plouffe and Trevor Cox. Ryan Kubic stopped all 33 shots fired his way for his second consecutive shutout.

With less than a minute remaining in the first period, Lang opened the scoring for the G-Men, potting his sixth of the year off a pass from Tyler Benson. Just minutes into the middle stanza, Plouffe scored his first goal in the WHL, extending the Giants' lead to 2-0. Ronning notched his team leading 14th of the season later in the frame off a feed from former Medicine Hat Tiger Trevor Cox.

Early in the third, Ronning scored his second of the game on the power play after being setup by Cox again. He then completed his second hat trick of the season, scoring on yet another man advantage. Cox would ice the game late in the period, tallying a shorthanded marker against his former team.

The Giants are back in action on Friday night when they play host to the Kootenay Ice on Star Wars Night at the Pacific Coliseum! For tickets, go to TicketLeader.ca or call 604-4-GIANTS.
