Everett, WA- The Tri-City Americans (11-16-1-0, 23 pts) avenged the loss from last week against the Everett Silvertips (14-8-0-2, 30 pts), taking an early lead and scoring two shorthanded goals to earn a 4-1 win in front of 3,233 fans at Xfinity Arena on Wednesday Night.

The Americans had a good start in the first period, dominating possession and only allowing three shots on Evan Sarthou. Tri-City got on the board midway through the first, as a shot from the point kicked to Parker AuCoin at the left faceoff circle, smacking it into the net for a 1-0 lead going into the second period.

Solid play continued in the second period for the Americans. Midway through the period, the lead increased to 2-0, as Michael Rasmussen found Dylan Coghlan above the slot, firing a shot off the right post and into the net. Tri-City pushed the lead to 3-0 towards the end of the period, as a shorthanded 2-on-1 opportunity allowed Rasmussen to pass to Juuso V?lim?ki, shooting it into twine for a 3-0 lead after two periods.

Early in the third, Tri-City pushed the lead to 4-0 as Brandon Carlo found Beau McCue, slipping the puck between the legs of Carter Hart to light the red lamp for the second shorthanded goal of the night. Everett ended the shutout attempt midway through the third, as the Silvertips scored a shorthanded goal of their own from Brian King. Everett continued to fight to get back into the game, but Tri-City was too good on this night as they earned the victory.

The Americans snap a four-game road losing streak and get their first win of the season against Everett.

Tri-City couldn't convert any of its two power play chances and spent 16 minutes in the penalty box. Everett was unsuccessful with six man advantage opportunities and recorded eight penalty minutes.

Evan Sarthou stopped 23 shots in the win. Carter Hart started for Everett and made 12 saves in the loss, with Mario Petit reliving Hart in the third, stopping 4 shots.
