Calgary Hitmen News Release

Regina, SK - The Calgary Hitmen continued their five-game tour of the WHL's East Division tonight in Regina at the Brandt Centre. The Regina Pats over came two third period deficits to come back for 5-4 victory over Calgary.

Matteo Danis opened up the scoring on the powerplay for his second of the season. Regina would have an answer tying it up at the ten minute mark with one from Borya Valis. Carson Wetsch would score his first of the season before the end of the first to give Calgary a two go lead heading into the second period.

The second would nearly remain scoreless until a late goal from Ethan Moore, his second in as many games. Regina would score two quick goals to tie of the game in the first four minutes of the third period, courtesy of a power play goal from Layton Feist, and awkward bouncing puck from Tanner Howe that snuck past netminder Ethan Buenaventura.

Calgary would not back down with Reese Hamilton securing his first WHL goal to regain the lead. It would not be enough with Regina scoring back to back goals, to make it 5-4 heading into the final minutes. Calgary would make one last push with Buenaventura on the bench but Regina would fend them off completing their come back win.

Calgary will now to travel to Prince Albert (Oct. 13) and Saskatoon (Oct. 14). Calgary will then have one more road stop in Lethbridge on Oct. 18 before finally returning to Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, Oct. 20 to host the defending WHL Champion Seattle Thunderbirds in a 7:00 p.m. start.
