Hitmen Announce 2015-16 WHL Regular Season Schedule

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen today unveiled their 2015-16 Western Hockey League regular season schedule. The Hitmen will begin their 21st season on the road against the Kootenay Ice on Friday, Sept. 25 before returning to the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7:00 p.m. for the home opener.
The 72-game schedule will see Calgary play Central Division opponents Edmonton, Kootenay and Red Deer seven times each while facing Medicine Hat six times and Lethbridge five.
Of the 36 Hitmen home games, 29 will be played on the weekend with the following breakdown: Friday (9), Saturday (9) and Sunday (11). Home game highlights include the 21st annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday, Dec. 6 versus Swift Current and Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, Mar. 20 against Kootenay.
Calgary will have a pair of season-high five-game homestands beginning Nov. 13-22 when the Hitmen host Kootenay, Tri-City, Prince George, Everett and Saskatoon. The second runs Jan. 16-31 when Edmonton, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Prince Albert and Brandon visit the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The schedule also features a season-high five-game road trip with stops in Brandon, Regina, Moose Jaw, Red Deer and Medicine Hat from December 8-18.
Hitmen home games played Monday through Saturday will have a 7:00 p.m. puck drop while Sunday games will begin at 4:00 p.m., with the exception of Saturday, Jan. 16 (6:00 p.m.) and the regular season finale on Mar. 20 at 2:00 p.m. All Hitmen home and away games will be broadcast live on Sportsnet 960 The FAN or online at www.sportsnet.ca/960.
In advance of the 2015 Hitmen Training Camp, which begins Aug. 27, individual game day tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 10:00 a.m. at all Ticketmaster locations and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office. Fans can also order online at www.ticketmaster.ca or by phone at 1-855-985-5000.
Calgary Hitmen season tickets for the 2015-16 campaign are available now at the Scotiabank Saddledome box office or by calling 403-777-4646. Packages include complimentary tickets to the first two Hitmen home playoff games along with game day savings vouchers for concessions, tickets and merchandise. They also feature a flexible exchange program where all unused Hitmen regular season tickets can be exchanged for another game during the same season.
The Hitmen and their charitable arm, the Calgary Hitmen Foundation, will continue to touch the lives of many in the community through various game day initiatives that support grassroots and amateur sports, health and wellness and education. During the 2014-15 season, the Calgary Hitmen Foundation provided over $95,000 to local agencies including the Calgary Board of Education, Calgary Catholic Education Foundation, Distress Centre of Calgary and Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.
