Spokane Chiefs News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs, in concurrence with the Western Hockey League, announced today their regular season schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 season, including all 36 home games to be played at Spokane Arena. The Chiefs begin their season at home with Bud Light Opening Night versus the Tri-City Americans on Saturday, September 26.
In total, the Chiefs will host opponents for 27 weekend games; nine Fridays, 14 Saturdays and four Sundays. The remainder of the home schedule will be played on nine Wednesday nights throughout the season.
The Chiefs will need to find their road legs early, as after the home opener, they hit the road for six straight games, not returning to Spokane until Friday, October 16 to host the Prince Albert Raiders. After a five-game homestand, they'll pack up once again for two more weeks of playing the visitor. Twelve of Spokane's first 18 games are on the road.
Then, beginning on November 11 against the Everett Silvertips, the Chiefs will play 14 of their next 17 games at Spokane Arena, including home contests to bookend the annual holiday break in late December.
Spokane will play 38 games against U.S. Division foes; 19 home and 19 away. They play the rival Tri-City Americans 12 times, the Everett Silvertips 10 times, the Portland Winterhawks eight times and the Seattle Thunderbirds eight times.
By month, the Chiefs will play one game in September, fourteen in October (five at home), twelve in November (seven), 10 in December (seven), twelve in January (seven), thirteen in February (six) and 10 in March (three).
The 2015-16 home schedule will conclude with the Coca-Cola Regular Season Finale on Saturday, March 12 versus Kelowna. The full regular season schedule will end on the road against Tri-City on March 19.
The 2015-16 Chiefs Promotional Schedule, including annual traditions such as Leinenkugel's HOCKtoberfest, the Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Spokesman-Review Christmas Fund, Mike's Hard Pink Lemonade Breast Cancer Awareness Night, Buck Nights, giveaway nights and much more will be announced at a later date.
