Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers will open the WHL regular season with a home-and-home with the Kelowna Rockets starting on Friday, September 25th in Kelowna. The Blazers will host their home opener the next night on Saturday, September 26th.

The Blazers will play 23 of their 36 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday this season. They will play nine home games on Wednesday nights, three games on Tuesday nights, and one game on B.C. Family Day on Monday, February 8th.

The schedule is heavier in the second half of the season with the Blazers playing 32 games prior to the Christmas break, and 40 following the Christmas break.

The schedule includes two games in September, 11 in October, 10 in November, 12 in December, 14 in January and February, and nine games in March.

The Blazers will play three games in three nights three times this season. In all three cases, the Blazers will be playing teams that are also playing their third game in three nights.

Some other Schedule Notes:

- The Blazers will host three Sunday home games this year. The start time for Sunday home games will be 6:00pm.

- The hockey club will travel to play the East Division teams this season, and will make the six-game trip prior to the Christmas break from December 11th - December 19th.

- All six of the East Division teams will not visit Kamloops this season.

- The Blazers will travel to Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Edmonton, but will not play in Kootenay, Calgary or Red Deer this season

- 34 games will be played against B.C. Division opponents including 10 versus Kelowna, and eight versus Vancouver, Prince George and Victoria

- The Blazers longest road trips will be six games against East Division opponents from December 11th - 19th and five games from January 9th - January 17th.

- The longest home stand of the season will be five straight home games from October 21st to November 3rd.

- The Blazers will play twice at 2:00pm this season on 'New Years Day' Friday, January 1st and 'B.C. Family Day' on Monday, February 8th.

- Saturday, February 6th versus the Edmonton Oil Kings will be a 5:00pm start as Kamloops hosts 'Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada'.

The 2015-16 season will be the 35th season in the WHL for the Kamloops Blazers franchise, and the WHL will be celebrating its 50th season.
