
Americans Announce 2015-16 Regular Season Schedule

KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Americans, in conjunction with the Western Hockey League, announced today their regular season schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 season, their 28th season in the Mid-Columbia.
After beginning the last seven seasons at the Toyota Center, the Americans will kick-off the 2015-16 season on the road, as Tri-City will travel to Spokane to take on the arch rival Chiefs at Spokane Arena on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The Americans will kick-off October with home opening weekend, taking on the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday, Oct. 3, (7:05 p.m.) and then host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Sunday, Oct. 4 (5:05 p.m.). The Americans will play seven games at home and six games on the road, including back-to-back games in Prince George against the Cougars (Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9 & 10). The team will also face Eastern Conference Champions, the Brandon Wheat Kings (Friday, Oct. 23), in the Toyota Center.
Tri-City playing seven of their 13 total games inside the friendly confines of the Toyota Center in November. The Ams will play a variety of opponents at home, including the defending WHL Champion Kelowna Rockets (Tuesday, Nov. 3), Eastern Conference opponents Swift Current Broncos (Wednesday, Nov. 18) and Moose Jaw Warriors (Tuesday, Nov. 24). The team will take one the arch rival Spokane Chiefs twice in November, including a game on Black Friday (Nov. 27). The Americans travel to Canada for three games, including facing Eastern Conference foes Medicine Hat Tigers (Friday, Nov. 13) and Calgary Hitmen (Saturday, Nov. 14).
The Americans play half of their 10 scheduled games in Kennewick in December. Every game in December is against U.S. Division opponents, including three games against Seattle and Portland and two games against Spokane and Everett. Tri-City wraps up the first half of the season at home on Saturday, Dec. 19 vs. Portland before the team pauses for the Winter Break. The 27th annual New Year's Eve game will cap off 2015 against the Spokane Chiefs.
The Americans ring in the New Year with a season-high five-game road trip. The trip begins on Saturday, Jan. 2 against the Seattle Thunderbirds and ends with a meeting against the Kelowna Rockets (Saturday, Jan. 9). Tri-City returns home with games against the Eastern Conference's Saskatoon Blades (Friday, Jan. 15) and Regina Pats (Saturday, Jan. 16). Tri-City will play eight of 12 games on the road.
February has 13 games in 29 days, opening with three games in the Toyota Center. The Americans have a four-game road trip through the Central Division following the homestand, beginning in Cranbrook against the Kootenay Ice on Wednesday, Feb. 10, with the trip concluding on Monday, Feb. 15, against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Tri-City plays seven of the 13 games in the Toyota Center in February.
March is a home month for the Americans, playing six of their 10 games at home, including a four-game home stand to end the season. Tri-City will face Everett on Saturday, March 12, followed by the Kelowna Rockets on Sunday, March 13. The regular season wraps up the following weekend, taking on the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday, March 18, and the regular season concludes on Saturday, March 19, against the rival Spokane Chiefs.
Of the 24 weekend home games, Tri-City will play 10 on Friday, 11 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. Tri-City's schedule is also balanced this season, with 19 home games before the seven-day Winter Break.
In division play, the Americans will go head-to-head with the Spokane Chiefs 12 times (six home and six away), including six match-ups after the Winter Break. Tri-City will also play the Portland Winterhawks and Seattle Thunderbirds 10 times while facing off against the Everett Silvertips eight times. Tri-City will play their B.C. Division counterparts (Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George, Vancouver and Victoria) four times each (two home, two away).
Tickets for individual games are set to go on sale to the public on Tuesday, Aug. 18th at 10 a.m. through all Ticketmaster outlets, including online at www.ticketmaster.com, all Fred Meyer outlets as well as the Toyota Center box office.
