Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Bisons had a one-run lead heading into the eighth inning, but a two-run home run from Adam Lind gave the PawSox a 3-2 lead as Pawtucket dealt the Bisons their fifth straight loss.
With the Bisons leading 2-1 in the eighth, Lind deposited a two-run shot to the bleachers in right field. He produced all the Pawtucket runs scored in the game.
The Herd had a one-out opportunity in its half of the eighth with two runners aboard but Buffalo could not bring a run home after a strikeout and a subsequent caught stealing ended the inning.
Pawtucket originally had a one-run lead in the first. With runners on second and third and no outs, the veteran Lind sent a fly ball deep enough to score Rusney Castillo on a sacrifice fly.
The Bisons faced Josh D. Smith for the second time in the span of five days. In the last matchup between the two teams, Smith held the Herd to just one hit and no runs over six innings.
Despite the loss, Buffalo fared better against the southpaw starter at home Monday night. The Herd offense registered four hits and two runs against Smith while drawing two walks in the five innings he pitched.
With two outs in the fifth, Roemon Fields made things happen at the plate. He roped a two-RBI triple into the right-field corner to give the Bisons a 2-1 lead. He also beat out an infield single in the third. Fields finished the game going 2-2 with a walk.
Earlier in the game, Fields made a fantastic leaping catch at the wall in center field on a deep fly ball struck by Ivan De Jesus Jr.

Nick Tepesch made his third start of the season for the Herd and after allowing a run in the first frame, he recovered to make a quality six-inning start. He was in line for the win and sat down five batters by way of the punch out. In his final inning of work, Tepesch retired the PawSox in order.
