Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the first game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field, after being rained out on Sunday against Lehigh Valley. Following their tilt with the PawSox, the Herd will head up the 90 to Syracuse to face the Chiefs June 29-30 and July 1. It will represent the first trip to Syracuse for the Bisons in the 2018 season.

Last Game: BUF 1, LHV 4

RHP Conor Fisk went 3.0 IP in his first start of the season. The righty gave up 3 hits and walked 2. LHP Jose Fernandez made his Triple-A debut in the fourth going 3.0 IP with 3H, R, BB, and 2SO. RHP Murphy Smith took the loss pitching 1 inning allowing 2 hits, a run, and had 1 strikeout. INF Tim Lopes went 2-3 last night with 2 doubles.

Pawtucket (5-7)

The Bisons and Red Sox last played each other June 19-21 where Pawtucket took three of the four games. Buffalo looks for redemption as they now play host to their division rival. In 11 games against the Sox, C Danny Jansen is 18-38 (.474) with eight extra-base hits and a .565 on-base percentage. RHP Luis Santos has a 1.86ERA in four games (9.2 innings).

Today's Starter: RHP Nick Tepesch

RHP Nick Tepesch is making his third straight start of the season for the Bisons after two appearances out of the bullpen. The right hander has made a combined ten starts between AA New Hampshire and Buffalo. Tepesch gave up five runs (four earned) in 2.2 innings in the loss to Pawtucket on June 20.

Tim Lopes

INF Tim Lopes had his 14th multi-hit game on Saturday going 2-3. Lopes had 2 doubles and was the only run scored for the Bisons. In his last two outings, the infielder is hitting 3-6 (.500)... Lopes' has the third highest on base percentage (.344) on the team trailing Dwight Smith Jr. (.374) and Danny Jansen (.411).

Reese McGuire

C Reese McGuire had a single and walked once in Saturday's loss. The backstop, who was the designated-hitter in the game, is now batting .237 (15-49) with an on-base percentage of .333 in 16 games played in the month of June. In his last 12 games, McGuire has reached base eleven times and has also had 15 hits in 39 at-bats. He has also hit .364 (8-22).

Transactions

LHP Jake Fishman was promoted from Dunedin (Adv-A), while OF Ian Parmley was transferred to New Hampshire (AA). Also, INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. re-joined the Bisons.

Bisons' Bits

LHP Ryan Borucki has a 2.81ERA in four starts in June (25.1IP)...RHP Sean Reid-Foley has thrown 21.1IP in four starts in June (2.91ERA)...Two of the three complete games thrown by Buffalo starters have come in June (Reid-Foley and Borucki)...The team's 68 stolen bases is good for first in the IL.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (36-41) split their series in Anaheim with a 7-6 victory on Sunday. Former-Angel DH Kendrys Morales had a pinch-hit home run in the 10th inning to give the Jays the lead back and eventual win. 2B Devon Travis and OF Curtis Granderson also homered on the afternoon. Toronto will play a three-game series against the Houston Astros with LHP J.A. Happ facing RHP Justin Verlander in the opener tonight (8:10 p.m.).
