ALLENTOWN, PA - It was a pitcher's duel between the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and Lehigh Valley IronPigs with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs, but one swing from Trevor Plouffe was the decisive blow as SWB drop the series-opener, 3-2.

Each starting pitcher was handed a no-decision despite tossing matching six-inning, two-run performances. Enyel De Los Santos entered the game with an International League-leading 1.63 ERA and exited with it at 1.73. Josh Rogers meanwhile allowed a pair of early runs, but then settled in and used plenty of flashy defense behind him to exit with the game tied 2-2. Following the outing, he ranks third in the I.L. with 86.2 innings pitched.

The two blemishes off of De Los Santos were a pair of solo home runs. With the RailRiders trailing 2-0 out of the gate, Bruce Caldwell got Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on the board with a blast tucked inside the foul pole in right field for his third homer in 19 games in Triple-A. A few innings later, Rey Navarro drilled a fly ball to right field that just snuck out over the top of the wall to even the score, 2-2.

Lehigh Valley plated a pair of early runs off Rogers in a first inning that didn't start off so threateningly. After the southpaw retired the first two men he faced on a groundout and a flyout, Colin Cowgill, Joey Meneses and Plouffe rapped three consecutive doubles for a 2-0 lead.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre gears up for the Game Two of the four-game series against the IronPigs Tuesday at Coca-Cola Park. The RailRiders send RHP David Hale (3-2, 4.26) to the mound against LHP Cole Irvin (8-3, 2.61) for Lehigh Valley. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with pregame coverage set for 6:35 p.m. with Adam Marco and Adam Giardino.
