Hamilton, Ontario - The Abbotsford Heat defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. Ben Walter scored a goal and added two assists and Ben Street notched the game-winner for Abbotsford.

The Heat got on the board first at 1:04 of the opening frame on a goal by Walter. Drew MacKenzie took a shot from the left point and the rebound came out to Walter in the slot who buried the puck by Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer.

Abbotsford scored their second goal at 6:29 of the first period on the power play as Max Reinhart wired a shot from the point found which found its way past Mayer.

The Bulldogs cut the lead to one as Morgan Ellis blasted a shot from the top of the right circle over the glove of Abbotsford Heat starting goaltender Danny Taylor at 14:25 of the first stanza on the power play.

The Heat added another power-play goal 18:38 of the first as Sven Baertschi walked in from the bottom of the right circle and banked the puck off of Mayer and in on an attempted pass through the crease.

Gabriel Dumont scored the second goal for the 'Dogs at 11:22 of the second stanza as he took a shot from the left circle which was stopped by Taylor and Dumont picked up his own rebound in the slot and shovelled the puck into the empty net.

Ben Street notched a power-play tally at 13:08 of the second period as he put a shot low past Mayer from the left circle.

The 'Dogs made it 4-3 at 11:40 of the third as Joey Tenute slid a shot from the left point which was tipped by Alex Belzile and deflected off an Abbotsford defender through the legs of Taylor.

The Bulldogs' next game is against the Rochester Americans at Copps Coliseum tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820).
