
Canadiens Recall Nathan Beaulieu, Assign Gabriel Dumont, Jarred Tinordi

MONTREAL, QUE - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Canadiens have recalled defenceman Nathan Beaulieu and have assigned forward Gabriel Dumont and defenceman Jarred Tinordi to the Bulldogs.
Beaulieu, 20, has played 62 games for the Bulldogs this season recording 25 points (6 goals, 19 assists) and 56 penalty minutes and leads the team in assists. The native of Strathroy, Ontario played four seasons for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League registering 152 points (37 goals, 115 assists), a +124 rating and 206 penalty minutes in 233 regular season games. The 6'2", 194-pound defenceman played 61 post-season games over four seasons for the Sea Dogs notching 48 points (12 goals, 36 assists), a +35 rating and 82 penalty minutes while helping Saint John capture the 2011 Memorial Cup. Beaulieu was originally selected by the Canadiens in the first round, 17th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Dumont, 22, played eight games while on recall with the Canadiens posting two assists. Dumont has played 52 games for the Bulldogs this season and leads the team in points with 30 (15 goals, 15 assists) as well as in goals and has also accumulated 81 penalty minutes. The native of Ville Degelis, Quebec represented the Bulldogs at the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic suiting up for the Western Conference All-Stars. On December 28th against the St. John's IceCaps, Dumont notched a career-high five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in a 6-3 victory. The 5'10", 186-pound forward has played 175 games over three seasons for the Bulldogs posting 72 points (33 goals, 39 assists) and 215 penalty minutes. Dumont was originally selected by the Canadiens in the fifth round, 139th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Tinordi, 21, played six games with the Canadiens while on recall notching one assist and two penalty minutes. Tinordi has played 55 games for the Bulldogs this season recording 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) and 51 penalty minutes. Tinordi played two seasons for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League from 2010-2012 posting 30 points (3 goals, 27 assists), a +31 rating and 203 penalty minutes in 111 regular season games, while leading the OHL in plus/minus during the 2011-2012 season with a +39 rating. The native of Burnsville, Minnesota helped lead the Knights to an OHL Championship and a Memorial Cup appearance in 2012 while registering eight points (3 goals, 5 assists), a +15 rating and 27 penalty minutes in 19 post-season games. The 6'6", 218-pound defenceman spent the 2009-2010 season with the United States National Under-18 Team in the United States Hockey League notching nine points (4 goals, 5 assists), a +14 rating and 68 penalty minutes in 26 regular season games. Tinordi was originally drafted by the Canadiens in the 1st round, 22nd overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs' next game is against the Abbotsford Heat at Copps Coliseum tonight at 7:30 p.m. The game will air on Cable 14. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820).
