Hogs, Ads Bash at BMO

Rockford, Ill. - Two playoff contenders fighting for their spot in the Western Conference playoff picture clash tonight at the BMO Harris Bank Center as the Rockford IceHogs (34-28-2-1) host the Milwaukee Admirals (32-25-4-3).

Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. as the Hogs and Admirals meet for a ninth time on the campaign. The Midwest Division rivals enter tonight's contest with 71 points apiece, and are in a three-way tie for seventh place in the Western Conference, along with the Chicago Wolves.

The IceHogs are coming off of a 4-1 victory from Wednesday night over the North Division-leading Toronto Marlies. Jeremy Morin registered a shorthanded and power-play goal, while Brandon Pirri added a trio of assists. Each has been a prominent figure in the Hogs quest for the playoffs, which would be the first time since the 2009-10 campaign.

In nine games during the month of March, Morin has notched 14 points (10g-4a) and Pirri has recorded 15 points (2g-13a). Pirri's 56 points (19g-37a) paces all Rockford skaters, while Morin leads the Hogs in goals with a career-high 27 this season. Morin's 27 goals also ranks in the top-5 in the American Hockey League and Pirri's 56 points ranks in the top-10 in the AHL.

Next Home Game: Saturday, March 30 vs. Oklahoma City Barons at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Barons close out their regular season series at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Thus far, the Hogs hold a 2-1-0-0 record against the Edmonton Oilers affiliate. The first 1,500 fans to the contest will receive an IceHogs gym bag, courtesy of Peak Fitness.
