Hat Trick of Quads Lift RedHawks to Series-Clinching Win

FARGO, N.D. -- Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (19-19) scored four runs in three different innings to topple the Saltdogs (15-22) 13-6 in front of 3,578 fans at Newman Outdoor Field Wednesday night.

A Sergio Pedroza three-run home run in the bottom of the second propelled Fargo to an early 5-0 lead.

Former St. Louis Cardinals first rounder Tyler Herron (2-3) pitched six innings, allowing four runs while striking out five to earn the win. Justin Edwards (2-4) surrendered eight earned in five innings to suffer the loss.

Tommy Collaro homered for his second time in as many nights, a two-run opposite field drive to right in the fifth.

Mike Provencher and Jimmy Rohan each tallied three hits in a losing effort.

Saltdogs manager Chris Miyake was ejected in the bottom of the second inning after arguing a call at second base.

The teams meet again Thursday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. for the finale of the three-game series. Tommy Palica (1-3, 9.33) will return to the rotation against Alex Caldera (5-1, 2.84). Radio coverage will be online only at www.kfor1240.com.
