HARTFORD, CT - The Hartford Wolf Pack (37-15-2-6) scored four power play goals en route to a 6-2 defeat of the Norfolk Admirals (21-32-2-5) on Friday night at the XL Center Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Hartford jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game. Former Admiral Pierre Parenteau snuck behind the defense and sent a shot from the low slot that beat Admirals goaltender Marc Denis top-shelf at 6:09. Parenteau then assisted on an Andy Hutchinson power play goal when his back-door pass connected for a one-timer at 7:38.

Denis then sparked an Admirals attack in the final minute of the opening period. After gloving a long Hartford shot with Wolf Pack attackers pinching deep into the Norfolk zone, Denis dropped the puck in front of him and took two strides before firing a pass to send Blair Jones on a two-on-one break. Jones sent a shot that beat Hartford netminder Miika Wiikman at 19:23.

The Wolf Pack utilized two power play goals to take a three-goal lead in the second period. Artem Anisimov sent a shot from the right half wall through a screen and past Denis at 7:16. Lauri Korpikoski converted another backdoor feed from Parenteau for a five-on-three power play goal at 16:36.

Greg Moore scored off the rebound of a Hutchinson shot on the power play at 6:06 of the third period. Norfolk responded less than a minute later when David Koci's point shot was deflected by Rob Klinkhammer past Wiikman at 6:42. However, the Wolf Pack sealed their victory with another Korpikoski power play tally at 14:52.

Marc Denis (41 shots, 35 saves) was stuck with the loss. Miika Wiikman (18 shots, 16 saves) got the victory.

Norfolk was 0-3 on the power play. Hartford was 4-6.

The Admirals will continue their nine-game road trip in Lowell tomorrow night and in Worcester on Sunday afternoon.
