Manitoba Moose News Release

Today, the Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced finalized clear day roster that was submitted prior to the American Hockey League deadline on Thursday, February 28th at 3:00 ET.

According to AHL by-laws, only those 22 players (20 skaters and two goalies) listed on a team's Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remaining five weeks of the 2007-08 AHL regular season and in the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, only after their respective junior or college seasons are complete.

The complete list of Clear Day rosters can be found on theahl.com.

The Moose made one move prior to the deadline. They received defenceman Nolan Baumgartner on re-assignment from the NHL's Dallas Stars. They currently have forwards Mason Raymond and Rick Rypien listed on recall to the Vancouver Canucks.

Sixteen of the AHL's 29 teams qualify for the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs, the top four from each division. If the fifth-place team in the West Division finishes with more points than the fourth-place team in the North Division, it would cross over and compete in the North Division playoffs.
