HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs had their season-high eight-game point streak snapped with a 6-0 loss at the hands of the Iowa Stars on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. With the loss, the Bulldogs record falls to 30-22-2-5 on the season.

Iowa opened the scoring with two first-period goals just 1:11 apart. At 15:48 of the frame, Marty Sertich received a pass in the slot from James Neal and potted his 19th tally of the season to make the score 1-0. Konstantin Pushkarev then jumped on a loose puck and deposited his eighth goal on the campaign at the 15:59 mark, giving Iowa a two-goal cushion.

The Stars added to their lead at 2:06 of the middle stanza when Neal snapped a shot from the hash marks past Bulldogs netminder Yann Danis on a power play. B.J. Crombeen and Sertich assisted on Neal's 10th tally of the season.

At 15:24 of the second frame, Iowa took a four-goal lead when Trevor Byrne poked the puck past Danis for his second goal of the campaign. Byrne's goal was unassisted.

Tommy Wandell then fired a wrist shot home to make the score 5-0 for the Stars with only nine seconds left in the second period. Janos Vas and Marius Holtet drew the assists on Wandell's third marker of the season.

Cedrick Desjardins replaced Danis between the pipes for the Bulldogs at the start of the third period.

Iowa rounded out the scoring at 6-0 with a goal at 16:13 of the third stanza when Chris Lee notched his sixth marker of the season with a blast from the point on the power play. Neal and Crombeen assisted on the play.

Danis turned aside 27 saves on 32 shots in the loss for the Bulldogs, while Desjardins stopped nine of 10 shots in relief. Goaltender Tobias Stephan stopped all of the 23 shots he faced to earn a shutout for the Stars.

The Bulldogs were 0-for-3 with the man advantage, while the Stars went 2-for-3 on the power play.
