Blackhawks Assign Versteeg To Rockford

Chicago, Ill.-General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have assigned forward Kris Versteeg to Rockford of the AHL.

Versteeg played last night in the Blackhawks 7-4 loss at Dallas. He has appeared in 12 games for the Blackhawks this season with 2 goals and 4 points and 6 penalty minutes. Versteeg played in his first career NHL game on November 22nd at Calgary. He scored his first career NHL goal on January 3rd at Phoenix.

Versteeg has appeared in 41 games for Rockford scoring 12 goals while adding 23 assists for 35 points with 138 penalty minutes and a +3 rating.

Versteeg, 21, was acquired by the Blackhawks from the Boston Bruins in exchange for Brandon Bochenski on February 3, 2007.
