The Senators continue the road trip with a three-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels beginning Friday night at the Diamond.

TONIGHT'S GAME The Senators continue the road trip with a three-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels beginning Friday night at the Diamond. Thursday's scheduled series opener was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on June 9 beginning at 5:05 p.m. Friday's game is the first of 19 games between the Senators and Flying Squirrels this season, 11 of which will be played at Richmond. The Senators went 12-8 against Richmond last season.

DRAWN TO DREW After being activated from the disabled list on April 23, Drew Ward hit .065 (3-46) over his first 14 games. Over his past eight games, the 23-year-old is batting .385 (10-26) with a .515 on- base-percentage and 1.054 OPS.

BYE BYE DH Friday ends a stretch of 14 consecutive games the Senators play against American League opponents. Beginning Friday, 23 of the next 29 games overall and 13 consecutive road games will be against National League teams. The Senators are 10-14 against the AL and 6-8 against the NL

AND THEN THERE WERE TWO After the Senators play Richmond, Portland and Akron will be the only two teams in the Eastern League the Senators have not faced this season. The Senators host Portland for three games June 1-3 and travel to Akron June 22-24.

HOW HOT IS THAT IN KELVIN? With a pair of hits in Monday's game, Kelvin Gutierrez expanded his Senators season-high hitting streak to 14 games. The streak is the third longest in the Eastern League this season. The 22-year-old is batting .305 (16-54) over the 14 game stretch. Binghamton's Jeff McNeil currently holds the longest hitting streak in the Eastern League this season at 16 games, which started on April 30 and is still on-going.

IF YOU'RE NOT FIRST YOU'RE LAST Wednesday's 5-2 win over Bowie was just the fourth victory by the Senators when the opposition scored first. The Senators are now 4-18 when the opponent score first and 12-4 when they are the first to score. SENATORS STARTING PITCHER Logan Darnell starts the series opener for the Senators. The left-hander is 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA across six games and two starts this season. Darnell took the loss despite allowing just two runs over five innings in his last start against New Hampshire on May 13. For more information on Darnell, please turn to page two of the game notes.

RICHMOND STARTING PITCHER The Flying Squirrels send Jordan Johnson to the mound. The right-hander is 4-3 with a 2.43 ERA over seven starts this season. Johnson allowed just one run in seven innings in his last start against Trenton on May 11. The 24-year-old is ranked as the 28th best prospect in the Giants organization according to MLB.com.
