WORCESTER, M.A. - The Worcester Red Sox (54-47, 15-11) and Rochester Red Wings (49-51, 15-12) split a pair of games on Sunday at Polar Park, a 4-3 win in game one for the home team and a 2-1 extra-inning win in game two for Rochester.

In a resumption of Saturday's suspended game, Rochester carried a 1-0 lead in to Sunday. In the second, Worcester tied the game on a run-scoring double play off the bat of Ronaldo Hernandez.

Stephen Scott led off the fifth with a solo home run, his fifth in his 26th Triple-A game. An inning later, Ceddanne Rafaela lined a two-out RBI double to extend the Worcester lead-he danced between second and third, eluding the rundown on his way back to the bag.

Rochester scored in the seventh and ninth to tie the game at three, but the WooSox loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out and the infield drawn in, David Hamilton lined a single to left for a walkoff single, giving the home team its seventh walkoff win of the season.

In 15 games since returning from Boston, Hamilton now has 13 hits, reaching base four times across both games of the doubleheader.

Game two was a scheduled seven-inning affair (and ultimately decided in extras), a game that featured 15 hits and seven walks, but three total runs.

Matt Adams opened the scoring in the second with a home run, the lone run against WooSox starter Brian Van Belle. The right-hander went five innings for the third time in his Triple-A career, striking out five.

In the seventh and final scheduled inning, pinch-hitter Nick Sogard lifted a game-tying solo shot over the Worcester Wall in right. Per veteran baseball writer Bill Ballou, Sogard's swing marked the first pinch-hit home run in WooSox history.

In extras, the Red Wings took the lead in the top of the eighth on a Millas RBI single-Worcester failed to score in the bottom of the frame, finishing off the split.

Trevor Story and Reese McGuire each continued their rehab assignments for the WooSox. McGuire caught the final seven innings of game one on Sunday, going 0-for-3 with a walk. Story took four at-bats as the designated hitter in game two, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

The WooSox are off Monday before beginning a six-game road series against the Syracuse Mets on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. Chris Sale is scheduled to make a rehab start for Worcester, facing Jose Butto (2-5, 6.62). Radio coverage is live at 6:15 p.m. on 100.1 FM The Pike, 98.9 Nash Icon and the WooSox Radio Network.
