Hamilton Hosts Rochester Twice This Week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will play two games this week. Both hometown tilts will be played at Copps Coliseum against the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers), with the first on Saturday November 15th, and the second on Sunday November 16th.

Last week, Hamilton went 1-2-0-0 and now has a 9-4-1-0 record. On Friday November 7th the 'Dogs ended their four game winning streak with a 3-1 loss to the Houston Aeros at Copps Coliseum. Hamilton hosted their QEW rivals the Toronto Marlies on Saturday November 8th, and came out victorious posting a 5-2 win in front of 4,963 at Copps Coliseum. The 'Dogs then traveled to Quicken Loans Arena on Sunday November 9th and suffered their second loss of the week at the hands of the Lake Erie Monsters, 6-4.

- On Friday, November 7th Hamilton Bulldogs Head Coach Don Lever announced that C Kyle Chipchura has been named the tenth Captain in franchise history.

- Bulldog point leader RW Matt D'Agostini picked up three more goals this week, all on the power play.

- RW Matt D'Agostini is currently 5th in league scoring with 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) in 14 games.

- Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced on Thursday November 6th that C David Desharnais has been signed to a two-year, two-way contract (2008-2009 - 2009-2010).

- Montreal C Tomas Plekanec picked up two assists this week in a 4-3 shoot out loss against Columbus (Nov. 7) and a goal against Toronto in a 6-3 losing effort (Nov. 8)

- Toronto C Mikhail Grabovski tallied three points this week, with a goal in a 5-2 loss against Boston (Nov. 6), and a goal and an assist against the Canadians in a 6-3 victory (Nov. 8)

- Columbus LW Jason Chimera recorded two points last week with an assist in a 4-3 shoot out victory against Montreal (Nov.7), and a goal against Calgary for a 3-1 win (Nov. 8)

- Dallas C Steve Ott recorded two assists this past week, earning one in a 5-2 win over Anaheim (Nov. 7) and the other in a 2-1 loss to San Jose (Nov. 8).

- Atlanta D Ron Hainsey earned three points this past week, posting an assist in a 5-4 OT win over Buffalo (Nov. 7) and recording a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over Carolina (Nov. 9).
