Hamilton Hosts Rochester And Houston; Travels To Lake Erie

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will battle the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers) on Tuesday, November 24th at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. The 'Dogs will then welcome the Houston Aeros (AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild) to Copps Coliseum for a match-up on Wednesday, November 25th at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs close out the week in Cleveland for games against the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche) on Friday, November 27th at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 28th at 1:00 p.m.

Last week, Hamilton held a record of 2-2-0-0 during a four-game road trip. The Bulldogs travelled to Abbotsford where they dropped the first of back-to-back games against the Heat 4-1 on Tuesday, November 17th before downing the Heat 2-1 on Wednesday, November 18th. The 'Dogs continued their road trip in Winnipeg for back-to-back games against the Manitoba Moose. On Friday, November 20th, the Moose defeated the Bulldogs 5-3 before Hamilton won 5-4 in overtime on Saturday, November 21st.

BULLDOGS NOTES:

- C David Desharnais is currently on a six-game point streak that has seen the forward accumulate eight points (four goals, four assists). Desharnais has earned at least a point in every game he's played this year after returning on November 10th from a injury suffered in the pre-season.

- D Mathieu Carle set a professional career-high for points in a game when he recorded four points (two goals, two assists) in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Manitoba Moose.

- LW Greg Stewart returned to the Bulldogs' line-up this past weekend after making the Montreal Canadiens out of training camp. Friday's game was Stewart's first regular season game since February 16, 2009. Stewart led the 'Dogs in penalty minutes last season with 170 in only 51 games played. He is currently on a conditioning stint with the club.

- In their last meeting, the Amerks sent the Bulldogs packing after handing them a 4-1 loss in Rochester on November 10th

There are over 40 former Bulldogs on 2009-2010 National Hockey League rosters. Over 60 percent of all former 'Dogs have played in at least one NHL game. Here are a few highlights and accomplishments of ex-'Dogs from this past week:

- Montreal G Carey Price stood tall in the shootout stopping all six Carolina attempts, most notably a toe-save on Matt Cullen to seal the victory for the Canadiens, a 3-2 shootout win (Nov. 17)=A1=A6 Price then made 32 saves to lead the Habs past the high-powered Washington Capitals 3-2 (Nov. 20)

- Toronto D Francois Beauchemin dished out one assist while firing six shots on net as the Leafs could not hang out to a third-period lead, losing 6-5 in a shootout to Carolina (Nov. 19)

- Montreal LW Andrei Kostitsyn got on the score sheet four times last week, with a goal in the Canadiens' 3-2 shootout win over Carolina (Nov. 17), an assist in a 3-2 win over Washington (Nov. 20), and two more helpers as Detroit defeated the Habs 3-2 in a shootout (Nov. 21). The brother of current Bulldogs RW Sergei Kostitsyn also amassed nine shots on net over the same three games

- Boston RW Michael Ryder scored twice and finished +1 as the Bruins got the shootout victory over Atlanta (Nov. 19)

- Los Angeles C Jarrett Stoll scored a goal and picked up three shots on net as the Kings beat Florida 4-3 in a shootout (Nov. 16)=A1=A6 The Melville, Saskatchewan native then scored a goal and added an assist while finishing +1 with three shots as the Kings lost 3-2 to Philadelphia (Nov. 18)

- Edmonton G Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers needed to make just 14 saves to get the victory, as the Oilers defeated Colorado 6-4 (Nov. 18)

- Montreal C Tomas Plekanec continued to produce offensively last week, as he registered two assists, two shots, and a +2 rating in the Habs' 3-2 shootout win over Carolina (Nov. 17)=A1=A6 Plekanec then had one goal, one assist, and five shots on net in the Canadiens' 3-2 victory over Washington (Nov. 20) followed by a one-assist performance with 2 shots and a +2 rating in a 3-2 shootout loss to Detroit (Nov. 21)

- Columbus LW Raffi Torres scored a goal in the Blue Jackets' 4-1 win over Dallas (Nov. 19)

- Dallas C Mike Ribeiro totaled three points last week with a goal in a 3-1 win over Detroit (Nov. 18) and another tally along with one assist and four shots on goal as the Stars beat the Devils 5-3 (Nov. 21)

- Montreal C Maxim Lapierre scored the shootout game-winning goal in the Canadiens' 3-2 shootout victory over Carolina (Nov. 17)

- Columbus G Mathieu Garon made 23 saves to lead the Blue Jackets to a 3-2 shootout win over Edmonton (Nov. 16)

- Edmonton C Shawn Horcoff had three points last week, with an assist in a 3-2 shootout loss to Columbus (Nov. 16), a goal in the Oilers' 6-4 win over Colorado (Nov. 18), and an assist in a 5-2 loss to Chicago (Nov. 21)

- Detroit RW Daniel Cleary dished out an assist and had a shot on goal as the Red Wings defeated Montreal 3-2 in a shootout (Nov. 21)

- Nashville D Francis Bouillon picked up one assist and fired a pair of shots on net as the Preds earned themselves a 3-2 shootout victory over Columbus (Nov. 21)

- Montreal LW Max Pacioretty scored his second goal of the season in a 3-2 shootout win over Carolina (Nov. 17)

- Toronto C Mikhail Grabovski scored a goal and had three shots on net as the Leafs could not weather a third-period storm from the Hurricanes and lost 6-5 in a shootout=A1=A6 The German-born centreman then collected an assist and finished +1 with a game-high seven shots on net as the Buds defeated Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals 2-1 in a shootout

- Minnesota RW Antti Miettinen scored a goal, dished out an assist, fired five shots on net, and was +2 as the Wild were beaten by Phoenix 3-2 (Nov. 18)

- Chicago G Cristobal Huet added two more notches to the victory column last week, making 27 saves as the 'Hawks burned the Flames 7-1, and stopping 25 of 27 shots in a 5-2 victory over Edmonton (Nov. 21)
