
Flyers Recall Ross & Nodl From Adirondack

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced that the Flyers recalled center Jared Ross and left wing Andreas Nodl from the Phantoms on Sunday and the two players will meet up with Philadelphia in Denver for their Monday night game with the Colorado Avalanche.
Ross, 27, has one goal and six assists for seven points in 15 games with Adirondack this season while serving as the Phantoms captain. Last season, he made his NHL debut with the Flyers, going scoreless in 10 regular season appearances, and recording one goal in six Stanley Cup Playoff games.
He spent the majority of the 2008-09 season with the Philadelphia Phantoms, where he recorded 69 points (29 goals, 40 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 64 regular season contests. His 69 points led the team, while his 29 goals tied for the team lead and 40 assists ranked second. He also led the Phantoms with a plus/minus rating of +17.
Selected to the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester, Massachusetts, Ross was named Most Valuable Player of the AHL All-Star Game on January 26th after he recorded a goal and six assists for seven points with PlanetUSA. His six assists and seven points are AHL All-Star Classic records.
Over parts of four seasons with the Phantoms (2006-07 to 2009-10), Ross has 152 points (57 goals, 95 assists) and 96 penalty minutes in 167 games. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Ross signed as a free agent with the Flyers on Apr. 8, 2008.
Nodl, 22, has three goals and one assist for four points in 16 games with the Phantoms this season. In 2008-09, he made his NHL debut with the Flyers and recorded four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in 38 regular season games. He also posted 20 points (6 goals, 14 assists) in 39 regular season contests with the Philadelphia Phantoms, as well as one assist in four Calder Cup Playoff games.
Over parts of three seasons with the Phantoms (2007-08 to 2009-10), Nodl has registered 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 58 regular season contests. He also has two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in 14 career Calder Cup Playoff games.
A native of Vienna, Austria, Nodl was originally selected by the Flyers in the second round (39th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and signed an entry level contract with the Flyers on April 4, 2008.
The Phantoms begin a busy three-games-in-three-days stretch this week on Thursday, November 26th for a Thanksgiving Day road game against the Binghamton Senators at 6:05 pm at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Adirondack's next home game is on Friday, November 27th as they host the Hershey Bears for a 7:30 pm face off on Black Friday at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The first 3,000 fans into the building will receive a set of Phantoms Thunder Sticks courtesy of Pyrofax Energy.
