LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Bulls second baseman Mike Brosseau drove in two runs and was joined by shortstop Taylor Walls and catcher Brett Sullivan in collecting two hits, however Stripers second baseman Ryan Goins smashed a home run and first baseman Johan Camargo clubbed three hits in Gwinnett's 6-4 win over Durham on Friday evening at Coolray Field.

The Bulls struck first with a pair of tallies in the opening frame, with Walls scoring when RF Josh Lowe reached on an error. Lowe later came across via Brosseau's RBI single to center to make it 2-0. The Stripers, however, struck back in the second with a trio of scores. Brosseau would then club an RBI double off the left-center field wall in the third to even the contest, however Gwinnett grabbed the lead right back at 4-3 by answering with a run in the last of the third.

The Stripers would later extend the advantage to three with two more runs in the eighth. Durham threatened in the ninth, with Lowe coming across on CF Nathan Lukes' sacrifice fly, however were unable to draw any closer after getting the tying run on base.

Walls (2-3, 2 R, 3B, BB) reached base three times to lead all Bulls batters, with Brosseau (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI) and Sullivan (2-4, 2B) posting multi-hit efforts as well. Camargo (3-4, 3 R, 3B) accrued a game-high three knocks, with Goins (2-4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI) adding two hits of his own.

Stripers reliever Kyle Wright (5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 5 K) earned the victory, while relievers Mitch Horacek (0.2 IP, 2 BB), Dylan Lee (0.1 IP, K), Tanner Roark (2.0 IP, H, BB), and Victor Arano combined for the final four frames. Bulls starter Brent Honeywell Jr. (5.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 3 K) suffered the defeat.

The two clubs are scheduled to continue their six-game series on Saturday night, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm. Durham's starting pitcher has not yet been announced, while RHP Jasseel De La Cruz (1-2, 6.09) is expected to get the nod for Gwinnett.

The Bulls return to Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday, August 17 to square off with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in the latest iteration of the Surf & Turf Series. First pitch of the series opener is set for 6:35pm. Tickets for that game, as well as all remaining Bulls home games are available and can be purchased at DurhamBulls.com.
