GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that MIKE NELSON (F) has been released from training camp.
NELSON (5-10, 175lbs., Sudbury, ONT native) played the final 34 games of the 2003-04 season with the Grrrowl after starting the season with the Peoria Rivermen and Toledo Storm of the ECHL. He totaled 47 points (15G, 32A) in 74 total games last season.
The Grrrowl will open the 2004-05 schedule with a home game on Friday, October 22, 2004 (opening weekend presented by Verizon Wireless) against the Charlotte Checkers.
