
Lynx Announce New Radio Home, Coach's Show Venue

The Augusta Lynx announced today that they will have a new radio home for the 2004-05 Season on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630 WRDW-AM, and that the team's Behind the Bench Coach's Show will alight at Wild Wing Café this year.
"We're extremely pleased to be on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630," said Tom Callahan, Lynx Director of Broadcasting and Public Relations. "The Beasley Group is a quality organization and a class act. I feel that this partnership can help take our broadcasts to the next level. Our vision is for an absolute top-notch production, and that's exactly where we're heading with WRDW-AM."
Known for their excellent coverage of sports on a local, regional, and national level, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630 carries Clemson University Athletics, National Football League games, a High School Game of the Week and now the Augusta Lynx. Program Director Ashley Brown's afternoon drive show is also a popular staple with sports fans all over the CSRA.
"It's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned," said Brown. "We strive to carry the best product available in the Augusta market, and I feel the Lynx are a top quality product. I know this will be the start of a long and happy marriage."
Also, the club announced that this year's Behind the Bench Coach's Show will take place at
Wild Wing Café, located at 3035 Washington Rd. The show will air live on WRDW-AM on Monday's from 7 â 8 pm starting October 25th.
"Our fans deserve a great location for the Coach's Show, and we feel that Wild Wing Café is a perfect fit," said Lynx General Manager Paul Gamsby. "It's a fantastic family environment for the show, one we're sure our fans will love."
NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630 will carry all 72 games this year, home and away, with the pre-game show starting one-half hour before faceoff. Catch the Lynx's first game of the year as they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center at 7:35 pm this Friday night. Pre-Game show starts at 7:05 pm with Tom Callahan on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630, WRDW-AM. Welcome to THE YEAR OF THE FAN.
