San Diego won the Brabham Cup with 108
points, becoming only the second
team to win in its first season. Toledo was the first team to win the
Brabham Cup in its first season in 1991-92. The Erie Panthers won the
Brabham Cup in 1988-89, the first season of the ECHL.
San Diego tied the mark for most home wins in a single season (30) set
by Louisiana in 2001-02.
Wheeling recorded 11 shutouts, eclipsing the previous record of 10, and
had three consecutive shutouts at home from February 20-February 28.
Louis Dumont is the ECHL's all-time leading scorer with 754 points,
passing Rod Taylor's 689 points. Dumont's 465 assists are also at the
top of the all-time list.
The Idaho Steelheads set records for highest playoff winning percentage
(.722) and highest home playoff winning percentage (.778) on their way
to the 2004 Kelly Cup Championship.
Pensacola's Brian Eklund played 3,724 minutes, a record for minutes
played by a goaltender in a season, and won 38 games, tying the record
set by Mark Michaud of Hampton Roads in 1993-94. Eklund also made
2,194 saves, a league record.
Las Vegas' Marc Magliarditi had two shutouts in 2003-04, raising his
career total to 20.
Louisiana fired 85 shots, the most ever in an overtime playoff game, in
a 2-1 double-overtime victory against Pensacola on April 14.
Pensacola's Brian Eklund set the record for saves in a playoff game,
stopping 83 of 85 shots on April 14.
Alaska tied the record for fewest shots in a period during a playoff
game with one shot in the second period at San Diego on April 6,
winning 4-2.
Alaska allowed Idaho only one shot in the second period of their April
20 playoff game, won 4-1 by Idaho.
Bakersfield put nine shots on goal in its February 17, 2004 game
against Trenton, matching Arkansas' league-record, nine-shot
performance against Greenville on March 7, 2000.
Mississippi's Greg Gardner holds the record for most consecutive 30-win
seasons (2).
Greenville's Daniel Boisclair made 65 saves against Greensboro on March
17, breaking the ECHL record for saves in a game.
Daniel Berthiaume won 23 games for Greensboro, tying Toledo head coach
Nick Vitucci's record for most 20-win seasons (7). Berthiaume holds the
record for consecutive 20-win seasons (5).
Greenville set the record for fewest home wins in a single season (5),
most losses in a single season (53) and most home losses in a single
season (28) while equaling the mark for fewest wins in a single season
(14) set by Huntington in 1993-94 and by Roanoke Valley in 1992-93.
