
Grrrowl add defenseman, Deslauriers

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that JEFF DESLAURIERS (G) has be reassigned by Edmonton to the Grrrowl, while TOM REIMANN (D) was acquired in a trade with Atlantic City. The trade sends J.F. PLOURDE (F) to the Boardwalk Bullies, where he is expected to begin play this weekend.
Reimann played his first 32 games this season with the Florida Everblades, and was traded to Atlantic City on February 4th, where he has appeared in 11 games. Through 43 games this season with both clubs, Reimann has three goals and 10 assists for 13 points. The 5-10, 185-pound native of Blaine, MN, has a plus/minus rating of +11 and has accumulated 20 penalty minutes. Reimann played four years at the University of Maine, with his most successful year coming as a junior, putting together a line of 12-23-35. After graduating from Maine in 2003, Reimann split his rookie season, playing in the ECHL with Greensboro, and in Austria with Feldkirch. He played 43 games with the Generals in 2003-04, registering 11 goals and 22 assists, earning a spot on the 2004 ECHL All-Star team.
Deslauriers played nine games with Greenville in February, going 7-1-1 with a 1.62 GAA and a .957 save percentage. Since being recalled by the Road Runners on February 28th, Deslauriers appeared in one game, losing 3-2 to Cleveland on March 1st. In that game, the St. Jean-Richelieu, Quebec native had 24 saves including 15 in the third period. In the AHL this season, Deslauriers is 4-8-1 with a 2.87 GAA and a .889 save percentage.
Plourde played 46 games for Greenville this season, producing 23 points on 12 goals and 11 assists. The 5-10, 185-pound native of Gaspe, Quebec led the Grrrowl in shorthanded goals (two) and shorthanded points (three).
Greenville next plays Friday in Charlotte, NC, for a game against the first-place Checkers. The Grrrowl stay on the road for a game in Augusta, GA, Saturday, and return to the BI-LO Center March 18th for a 7:05 p.m. start against the Florida Everblades. For tickets, call 864-233-2525.
