
Kelly Cup Tour Visits Biloxi, Estero

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Second-Annual Kelly Cup Tour heads into Mississippi
and Florida on Friday and Saturday for both nights of the South Division
battle between the Sea Wolves and the Everblades. The Kelly Cup, which has
been awarded to the ECHL postseason champion each season since 1997, will
be at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Friday and at Germain Arena on
Saturday.
Mississippi is the fourth destination of a tour that will see the Kelly Cup
travel 7,112 miles to visit 12 league cities in 51 days. Accompanying the
Kelly Cup is a full-color display that highlights the intensity and the
excitement of the Kelly Cup Playoffs which begin April 12. Each of the 28
ECHL cities were given the opportunity to host the Kelly Cup which on its
inaugural tour in 2004 traveled 7,543 miles in 44 days while visiting 10
ECHL cities in eight states.
The tour opened February 18 in Reading and already made stops in Charlotte
and Toledo, where the Kelly Cup was displayed with the Stanley Cup as part
of the Hockey Hall of Fame Weekend with the Storm. The Kelly Cup and
Stanley Cup have been displayed together each of the past six years at the
ECHL All-Star Game. The Kelly Cup Tour heads to South Carolina next week
for a Columbia Inferno game on March 15, a Pee Dee Pride game on March 18
and a South Carolina Stingrays game on March 19.
