Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors will battle with the Alaska Aces for the top spot in the National Conference West Division this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Rabobank Arena. Alaska has 79 points in the standings, while the Condors have 77, and a regulation win by Bakersfield will put the two teams in a tie for first place.

The ZOOperstars come to town for their second visit of the season, and a large crowd is expected for their return. These giant, inflatable mascots are animal take-offs of famous sports figures, and this visit features several first-timers to Bakersfield, including Snail Earnhardt, Jr., Dick Flytale, Pee Wee Geese, LeBronco James, Deion Salamanders, and Shaquille O'Seal. The ZOOperstars appear courtesy of Bright House Networks and 101.5 KGFM.

Friday's game marks the deadline for fans to enter the "Win 10 to Win $10,000" contest. If the Condors win their final nine home games of the regular season (starting with Friday night) and their first home playoff game, a drawing will be held for one season ticket holder to win $10,000. Current full season ticket holders are eligible, and anyone signing up for a prorated season ticket package for the remainder of this season by Friday will also be entered. Contact the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825) for remaining seat availability.

In addition, Friday's game is also a THINK Night, providing complimentary terrace tickets to students involved with the THINK program. The THINK (Turning Hockey Into New Knowledge) Program rewards elementary students with tickets to select Condors games for their exceptional performance in the classroom. The THINK program is made possible by Catholic Healthcare West Hospitals, the Department of Public Health and ARRC Technology. As with all THINK Nights, parents of students receiving the complimentary vouchers can purchase terrace level tickets for themselves for only $5

It's a Bright House Networks Family Night as well, in which all subscribers can purchase terrace tickets for just $5 with the coupon found in their monthly cable bill. Along with the Family Night, Bright House Networks will also be carrying Friday's game live on cable channel 21. The replay will air on Saturday morning, March 12th, at 10:00 a.m. It's also a Colonel Claw'd's Kid's Club Night, in which all members of the club can receive complimentary terrace admission. The Kid's Club is sponsored by Bright House Networks, the Bakersfield Californian, Kern Schools Federal Credit Union and HomeTown Buffet.

Fans at Friday's game will also get a chance to see LW Mathieu Brunelle accept an award as the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week from last week, in which he recorded 6g-1a in four games. Brunelle will take his first turn at the Holiday Inn Select Autograph Booth after Friday's game as well, sitting with Brad Mehalko. In addition, the Highland High Jazz Band will perform both the National Anthem and a mini concert during the second intermission.

The Condors Coach's Show airs regularly every Thursday on KGEO Hot Talk AM 1230 live from the Holiday Inn Select next door to the Rabobank Arena. Tonight's guests include D Guy Dupuis, who will skate in his 1,000th career game on Friday, and Head Coach Marty Raymond. Join the "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl, meet Condors players and coaches and win great prizes. The show runs from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
