
Grizzlies winning streak ends at four

The Grizzlies dropped game one of a three-game series 4-2 to the Evansville Otters. The loss snaps the Grizzlies win streak at four games.
Gateway is now 31-35. Evansville os 34-32.
The loss was the second in a row for Erik Dessau despite a good start. Dessau (3-4) went eight innings allowing four runs, three earned on seven hits. He struck out four.
The Grizzlies threatened in the eighth inning-loading the bases with nobody out. Mike Breyman drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to center. Ben Margalski walked to load the bases again. Phil Warren flied to left, deep enough to score Eric Sansouci, but Shawn Smarsh was doubled off of second base to end the inning.
Ryan Sullivan and Gary Gilbert were each 2-4 on the night. Breyman was 0-2 with the RBI on the sacrifice fly. It was the only RBI of the night for the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies and Otters meet again Sunday night at GMC Stadium. Game time is 6:05.
