
Wild Things's Streak Continues

Washington Wild Things News Release
The Washington Wild Things (43-24), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, defeated the Mavericks 6-2 in front of a sell out crowd of 3,811. This is the Wild Things' tenth consecutive victory.
The Wild Things took 3-0 lead in the second inning when Chris Sidick, Andy Hudak, and David Reaver each singled. Sidick, who had moved to third on Hudak's hit, scored when Reaver singled. Robert Morgan grounded out to drive in Hudak. Reaver scored on an error by short stop Dusty Young.
The Mavericks scored in the fifth when Brian Baker scored on a passed ball.
The Wild Things answered in the bottom of the fifth when Andy Hudak hit a bases clearing triple down the right field line driving in three runs Sidick, Pat O'Brien and Mike Arbinger.
In the ninth inning Thomari Story-Harding hit a solo home run his 15th of the season.
Matt Swope's 26 game hitting streak came to an end.
Ryan Douglass (9-2) got the win, pitching seven innings, allowing one run on five hits, walking two and striking out four. B.J. Borsa pitched two in relief allowing one run on two hits, and striking out one.
The Wild Things and the Mid-Missouri Mavericks meet for game two of their three game series Sunday when first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Air time on WJPA 95.3 FM and www.msasports.net is 6:25 p.m. The first 1000 children at the game will receive a back-to-school binder, courtesy of the Wheeling News Register and Intelligencer.
