
Grizzlies Win 6-3 to Complete Wichita Sweep

Wichita, Kansas - The Utah Grizzlies got 2 goals from Matt Berry and Cole Ully and Kevin Davis added 2 assists as they defeat the Wichita Thunder on Friday night at INTRUST Bank Arena.
The Utah victory completes a 3 game road sweep in Wichita and gives the Grizzlies a 3-1-1 road trip, earning 7 of 10 standings points before heading home for a 6 game homestand.
Grizzlies got off to a great start, taking a 1-0 lead on a Matt Berry power play goal 1:43 into the game. Austin Carroll got a great pass from Gage Ausmus 5:12 into the period to take a 2-0 lead. Utah took a 3-0 lead on Berry's 2nd of the game on an outstanding pass from Tim McGauley. Wichita coach Malcolm Cameron pulled goaltender Dylan Wells after the 3rd goal and replaced him with Stuart Skinner. Wells stopped 8 of 11 shots. Skinner saved 23 of 25 in relief.
Wichita got on the board as Ralph Cuddemi scored a goal for the 3rd straight game early in the second period. Utah took a 4-1 lead on Cole Ully's 4th goal of the season 9:47 into the period.
The Thunder cut into the lead early in the third period as Jeremy Beaudry scored his first of the year. Utah got a big insurance goal after Cole Ully was taken down on a breakaway by Travis Brown and was awarded with a penalty shot. Ully beat Skinner for his 2nd goal of the game and 5th of the season to make it a 5-2 Grizzlies lead.
Greg Chase make it a 5-3 Utah lead as the Thunder forward scored 7:12 into the third period. Jake Marchment completed the scoring by scoring an empty net goal with 1:13 remaining in regulation. Marchment finished with 4 goals and 3 assists on the road trip after coming over from the AHL's San Diego Gulls.
The Grizzlies head back to Utah for a 6 game homestand over the next 2 weeks. Utah takes on the Indy Fuel on November 14, 16 and 17th and the Allen Americans on November 21, 23 and 24th. Get your tickets at utahgrizzlies.com.
Grizzlies notes: Kevin Carr stopped 25 of 28 shots to get his 3rd win of the season. Carr is 3-0-1 on the year. Kevin Davis had 2 assists for Utah. He leads the Grizzlies with 13 assists on the year. Davis leads all rookies with the 13 helpers. Both assists came on the power play. Utah was 2 for 4 on the power play. The Grizzlies have the number 1 power play in the league. Wichita's power play was 1 for 4. Forwards Caleb Herbert and Travis Barron were assigned to the AHL's Colorado Eagles.
