Tonight's Promotions: Saturday is Marvel Super Hero Night and the team will be wearing special Black Panther jerseys and the jerseys will be auctioned off in the concourse during the game. Tonight is also Pucks & Paws and fans can bring their dogs to the game with a game ticket and a $5 donation at the gate to the Norfolk SPCA. Fans bringing a dog should enter through the Showcase Restaurant entrance.
About Tonight's Game: With a win last night and a loss by the Jacksonville Icemen, the Admirals once again hold sole possession of first place in the division and will be looking to maintain that spot tonight. The Admirals are 5-1-0 at home. However, the Gladiators have shown the ability to bounce back following a loss and will be fighting to bring home two big road points. Tonight marks the fourth meeting in the last five games between the two teams. Atlanta Head Coach Jeff Pyle is just one win away from jumping to third All-Time in most career ECHL coaching wins. Pyle has earned 480 career ECHL wins and is currently tied with former Hampton Roads Admirals Head Coach John Brophy.
About Friday's Game: Luke Nogard scored twice and added an assist, while Brad Barone turned aside 25 of 26 shots to guide the Norfolk Admirals to an impressive 4-1 victory over Atlanta. Branden Troock broke up a shutout bid by Barone with an early third period goal.
About the Admirals: With a three-point outing last night, forward Luke Nogard has now registered four points (3g, 1a) in the last two games....Goaltender Brad Barone recorded his first ECHL victory last night and is expected to start in goal once again this evening.....The Admirals are 7-1-0 when scoring first....Norfolk's penalty kill jumps to second best in the ECHL at 92.3-percent and has not allowed a power play goal against since opening night on October 13 against Wheeling.
About the Gladiators: Branden Troock continues to be a thorn in the side of the Admirals. After netting a hat trick against Norfolk on Sunday, Troock recorded his fourth goal against the Admirals on Friday. Troock leads the Gladiators in points (8) and goals (6) ....Goaltender Miroslav Svoboda is second in the ECHL with a 1.73 goals-against-average.... While Norfolk boasts the second-best penalty kill unit in the league, Atlanta holds the number one ranking in that category. The Gladiators surrendered just their second power play goal of the season last night, but still hold an impressive 94.9-percent mark on the penalty kill.
