Brady Norrish Recalled by AHL Texas Stars

BOISE, Idaho - The Texas Stars (AHL) have recalled defenseman Brady Norrish and signed him to an AHL Standard Player Contract (SPC), Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Saturday.

Norrish, 25, played 13 games with the Steelheads in his rookie season, tallying four goals and seven assists for 11 points with two power play goals and a plus-3 rating. The Strongfield, Sask., native led the Steelheads with five power play points (2g, 3a) and sat tied for second on the team in scoring while also placing second in scoring among all ECHL defenseman and tied for sixth among ECHL rookies. Norrish made his professional debut with the Steelheads on October 12 and signed an ECHL contract on July 24 following a four-year collegiate career at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

The call-up marks the third time this season the Steelheads have seen a player under an ECHL contract recalled to the AHL. Forward Kale Kessy was loaned to the Manitoba Moose prior to the regular season, and goaltender Ryan Faragher was loaned to the Stockton Heat on October 27.

The Steelheads finish their three-game, four-day weekend against the Tulsa Oilers tonight at 7:10 p.m. from CenturyLink Arena.
