Utah Grizzlies News Release
The Situation
The Grizzlies enter the week with a 14-6-1-0 record after completing their ten-game in 22-day home stand 7-2-0-1.
Best of the Best
Saturday's Grizzlies game with Idaho featured the top two ECHL teams in terms of winning percentage. It also began four-straight games between Utah and the other top teams in the National Conference with the Grizzlies going to Bakersfield this Friday and Saturday for two games against the 14-6-2-0 Pacific Division leading Condors. Utah completes their four-game stretch in Idaho December 16.
Goaltending
Grizzlies goaltender Mitch O'Keefe leads the ECHL with ten wins and is fourth in the league with a 2.61 goals-against-average. In eight of his ten wins, he has allowed two goals or less. O'Keefe is also tied for the league-lead with two shutouts.
Three of the Top 12 Leading Scorers
Headlined by the league's leading scorer Ryan Kinasewich, the Grizzlies have three of the top 12 scorers in the league. Kinasewich has 17 goals and 16 assists for 33 points in 16 games, AJ Perry is tied for eighth in the league with seven goals and 17 assists and Dylan Hunter is tied for 12th in the league with 10 goals and 13 assists.
Heating Up
Shea Guthrie has three power-play goals and one assist in his last three games. Tom May had a five-game scoring streak and a league-high five-game goal scoring streak snapped Saturday, but still has seven goals and three assists in his last nine games.
Solid Rookie D-Man
Utah defenseman Vic Bartley is tied for fourth in the league with a plus-12 and leads all rookies in plus-minus. He is tied for 13th in scoring among defensemen with two goals and 11 assists.
Back on the Road
The Grizzlies head to Bakersfield with a 6-1 road record. In Utah's only visit to Bakersfield this season, they battled back from a 1-0 first period deficit to beat the Condors 6-3 on October 29.
