Overtime Isn't Kind To Bakersfield

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors dropped a pair of overtime games in Stockton over the weekend, but still gained two points in the standings. They return home this week with Friday and Saturday matchups against the Utah Grizzlies at Rabobank Arena, with a chance to set a new team record for consecutive wins at home. The Condors current eight straight home wins tied the mark set in 2005-06.

Bakersfield is 14-6-2 on the season, sitting in 1st place in the Pacific Division with 30 points in the standings. They hold a nine-point lead over the 2nd place Ontario Reign and rank 3rd in the ECHL in overall points, behind Idaho (37) and South Carolina (36).

STOCKTON 6 vs. Condors 5, OT

Condors F Gino Guyer scored with just 1:57 left in regulation to cap off a three-goal comeback, but Thunder RW JF Caudron scored on the power play just :52 into overtime to take a 6-5 win in Stockton. Bakersfield fell behind 4-1 late in the second period before the comeback began. Five different players lit the lamp for the Condors, who put up a season-high 46 shots on goal in the game, including 19 in the middle frame.

STOCKTON 3 vs. Condors 2, OT

The Thunder and Condors exchanged goals in the first and second period. But the 2-2 tie held up through regulation and once again Stockton RW JF Caudron scored on the power play in the first minute of overtime to take the win. F Andrew Ianiero extended his goal streak to a team-high four games, and C Adam Naglich (pictured) scored as well for the second straight game. G Timo Pielmeier stopped 24 of 27 Stockton shots in the game.

PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:

F Andrew Ianiero (right) owns a seven-game scoring streak (5g-5a) and a four-game goal streak (4g). Ianiero, who earlier this season moved into 2nd place all-time in Condors games played, needs just seven penalty minutes to crack the Top 10 in Condors history as well. Bakersfield has taken at least a point in 11 of their last 12 games (9-1-2). D Stu Bickel scored his first professional goal on Saturday, becoming the 7th Condor this season to record his first professional North American tally. The Condors penalty kill has dropped from 1st to 10th in the league, after surrendering eight power play goals in 17 chances (52.9%) the last three games. The Condors power play has scored in eight consecutive games. Bakersfield has surrendered 45% of their overall goals allowed in the first period (29 of 66). The last time the Condors lost on home ice, it was to this weekend's opponent, the Utah Grizzlies. By the time they drop the puck on Friday it will have been 41 days since the last Bakersfield home loss.ON THE DOCKET:

The team returns home this weekend for a two-game series with the Utah Grizzlies on Dec. 11 and 12. Friday, Dec. 11 features a visit from the Oakland Raiderettes, sponsored by ABC23, 98.5 The Fox and Cal Water. On Saturday, Dec. 12 the Condors will wear special Pearl Harbor commemorative jerseys for a Jersey Raffle & Auction, sponsored by KUZZ 107.9, American Business Machines and Bud Light.

Saturday's game will be televised live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21.
