Stingrays Weekly; Stingrays Push Streatk To Season-High Seven Games

The Stingrays made a quick stop in Gwinnet and hosted the Elmira Jackals on Saturday and Sunday at North Charleston Coliseum for a week record of 3-0 and pushed their winning streak to a season-high seven games. On Friday, the Stingrays traveled out to The Arena at Gwinnett Center to battle the Gladiators for the eighth time this season and skated away with a 3-1 win. Forwards Matt Scherer, Nikita Kashirsky and Keith Johnson netted goals in the Stingrays' fifth consecutive road win. South Carolina returned to North Charleston to face Elmira Saturday night and edged the Jackals 4-3. Rookie Rob Ricci, defenseman Josh Godfrey, Johnson and Kashirsky all found the back of the net in the first period and held on for the victory. In their final matchup of the season, the Stingrays locked horns with the Jackals on Sunday and picked up a 3-1 victory to sweep the season series. Forward Matt Fornataro netted two goals and Johnson added a short-handed marker for the win.

Stingrays goaltender Todd Ford stands 18th in the ECHL with a 3.15 goals-against average and .899 save percentage. Rookie goaltender Braden Holtby ranks 11th in the ECHL with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.

Stingrays rookie forward Nikita Kashirsky is 5th among ECHL rookies with 21 points and ranks 3rd in rookie shots with 83. Kashirsky is also 2nd overall in the ECHL with four game-winning goals. Forward Robb Ricci ranks 12th among ECHL rookies with 17 points.

Defenseman Zach Tarkir ranks 6th among ECHL defenseman with 15 points and is tied for first on the team with seven power-play points. Defenseman Dylan Yeo stands 15th among ECHL defenseman with 13 points.

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays (16-6-1-3) defeated the Elmira Jackals (10-9-2-1) 3-1 Sunday night in the Stingrays' annual Teddy Bear Toss at North Charleston Coliseum. Stingrays forward Matt Fornataro netted a pair of goals and the Stingrays collected 1,329 stuffed animals in the victory. With the win, the Stingrays pushed their winning streak to a season-high seven games.

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays (15-6-1-3) defeated the Elmira Jackals (10-8-2-1) 4-3 Saturday night in front of 4,142 at North Charleston Coliseum. Stingrays forward Rob Ricci netted the game-winning goal and goaltender Braden Holtby knocked aside 27 of 30 shots to push the team's winning streak to six games.

Stingrays Push Their Winning Streak to Five with 3-1 Victory at Gwinnett

Duluth, GA -The South Carolina Stingrays (14-6-1-3) defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators (10-6-2-1) 3-1 Friday night at The Arena at Gwinnet Center finishing a five-game road trip. Stingrays forward Nikita Kashirsky netted the game-winning goal and goaltender Todd Ford knocked aside 30 of 31 shots in the win.
