Grizzlies Take Down Ice Dogs 4-2

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs 4-2 Wednesday night at the E-Center. Ryan Kinasewich had one goal and three assists in the game. Andy Sertich had two assists for the Grizzlies.

Utah jumped up 1-0 1:59 into the first with a power-play goal from Kinasewich assisted by Sertich and Danny Stewart. The Ice Dogs countered with a shorthanded goal as time ran down in the first.

In the second, Brad Herauf gave the Grizzlies a 2-1 lead as he took a centering pass from Kinasewich at 13:56 of the second.

In the third, Utah killed 1:29 of a 5-on-3 shorthanded situation and West Valley native D.J. Jelitto knocked in an insurance goal to give Utah a 3-1 lead.

In the final minute, the Ice Dogs made it 3-2 then Joel Irving scored a Utah empty-net goal to give Utah a 4-2 final.

Rob McVicar stopped 23 of 25 for the win. He improves to 10-3-2 at the E-Center on the season.

With Victoria losing to Idaho tonight, the Grizzlies finish the evening holding the eighth spot in the ECHL's National Conference playoff race with two games in hand on the Salmon Kings.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Friday and Saturday hosting Long Beach once again. Face-offs are scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
