Glenn agrees to terms with Checkers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Ryan Glenn. Glenn has split the first part of this season playing for the Providence Bruins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

In 15 games with Providence, the 26-year-old registered three goals and three assists with 27 penalty minutes. The native of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia skated in 18 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton recorded three assists and 27 penalty minutes.

Last season, Glenn played 26 games with the Checkers notching nine assists and 26 penalty minutes. He appeared in 31 AHL games - three with Syracuse and 28 with Lowell - recording one goal, six assists and 21 penalty minutes. During the 2004-05 season, Glenn skated in 61 games with the Checkers scoring 28 points (9g, 19a) and appeared in 11 games with the team's AHL affiliate the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The Checkers are at home tonight at 7:00 pm vs. South Carolina. The Checkers will host the Texas Wildcatters at 7:30 pm Saturday and the Columbia Inferno at 4:00 pm Sunday. Sunday is the Checkers inaugural Pink in the Rink Game to benefit Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, Carolina Breast Friends and American Cancer Society.
