Grizzlies Sign Dan McDonald To ATO

Bakersfield, California - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has signed left wing Dan McDonald to an amateur tryout agreement. He has joined the team on their current trip in California and will be in the lineup tonight in Bakersfield at 8 p.m.

McDonald played college hockey at the University of Ottawa from 2005-2008, tallying 28 goals and 50 assists for 78 points in 80 games. In five years of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League from 2000-2005 with Plymouth, Kingston and Brampton, the current 25-year old had 65 goals and 110 assists for 175 points in 255 games. In his last three years in juniors he had 160 points in 195 games.

McDonald is the second Grizzlies signing in the last week. Defenseman Jim Jensen is a plus-two in his first two games with Utah after being signed out of the SPHL. Previously, he was with the ECHL's Texas Wildcatters.
