Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Nine days before the ECHL trading deadline, the Alaska Aces have sent winger Erik Felde to the Reading Royals in exchange for defenseman Tyson Marsh.

Marsh has played just eight ECHL games this year, having earned a promotion to the Chicago Wolves (AHL) in mid-November. He handed out three assists in eight games for the Royals before appearing in 24 contests at the next level, assisting on four goals and scoring the eventual game-winner against Rockford December 21. The 24-year-old Marsh spent much of the previous two seasons with Columbia, serving as an assistant captain for the Inferno during the 2006-07 season. A fifth-year pro out of Quesnel, BC, the 6-2, 211-pounder played three full seasons of major junior hockey in Vancouver (WHL), including a year as captain in 2002-03. He remains on loan to Chicago.

Felde appeared in 29 games for Alaska, scoring five goals and assisting on two others. Six of those points came in a total of three games; he scored twice against Utah November 16 and against Bakersfield December 3, and had a goal and an assist in a 6-0 rout of the Condors December 6.

The Aces, currently leading the West Division at 34-20-3 overall, play host to Las Vegas in the first of a three-game series Friday at 7:15 p.m. Alaska owns a league-best 22-6-1 record at home, having won 11 of its last 12 contests held in Anchorage. The Aces swept a pair from the Wranglers at home to open the regular season and split two games in Vegas just after Christmas.

The series continues Saturday at 7:15 p.m. (after the game, make sure to set your clocks one hour FORWARD) and concludes Sunday at 5:05 p.m. The Wranglers (26-24-8 overall) are winless in their last 10 games after an eight-game winning streak. All three games at Sullivan Arena this weekend will be broadcast live on the flagship home of Alaska Aces hockey, KFQD AM 750, with Peanut Farm Pre-Game Show coverage beginning 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
