
Calgary Flames Deal Kevin Lalande to the Columbus Blue Jackets

Las Vegas, NV - The Calgary Flames, National Hockey League Affiliate of the Las Vegas Wranglers, announced today the team has traded goalie Kevin Lalande to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a 2009 fourth round draft choice.
Lalande set the Wranglers team record with the lowest goals against average in one season, posting a 2.05 GAA in 2007-08. In 27 appearances as a rookie, the 22-year old went 17-5-4 with a .932 save percentage and three shutouts. He followed up with a 13-6-1 record in the 2008 Kelly Cup playoffs. Lalande and the Wranglers lost in six games to Cincinnati in Kelly Cup Finals. The Kingston, ON native finished the playoffs with a 2.52 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. He posted three shutouts in the playoffs, including two in the Kelly Cup Finals.
This season, Lalande was assigned to Las Vegas on a conditioning assignment in November of 2008. In 21 games, Lalande posted a 9-8-2 record with a 2.39 goals against average, three shutouts and a .925 save percentage. The second-year goalie was recalled to Quad City in late January, posting his first career AHL shutout with 24 saves at Houston. He immediately was reassigned to Las Vegas for a four-game stint. The Flames recalled Lalande again in early February. This season, in six appearances with Quad City, Lalande is 4-1-1 with a 1.94 GAA and a .929 save percentage.
In two seasons with Las Vegas, Lalande posted a 26-13-6 record with a 2.20 goals against average, six shutouts and a .929 save percentage. He ranks third all time in team history with 48 appearances and 26 career wins. His is tied for second in career shutouts. Lalande is the team's all-time leader for playoff wins, appearances and shutouts.
The Calgary Flames drafted Lalande in the fifth round (#128 overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning pro, Lalande posted a 67-46-12 record in Belleville. Lalande had a 3.02 goals against average and a .916 save percentage in four years with the Bulls.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are affiliated with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch.
The Wranglers finish a ten-game road trip with a three-game stop in Alaska starting Friday night at Sullivan Arena at 8:15 PM (PST). Las Vegas returns home to host the Idaho Steelheads on March 13th and 14th at 7:30 PM at the Orleans Arena.
