Grizzlies Defeated In Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 8-4 Wednesday night at Rabobank Arena. The Condors led from the 4:11 mark of the first and never looked back.

Utah cut the deficit to 2-1 in the first and 3-2 early in the second before Bakersfield rattled off four-straight scores to break the game open.

Tom May got the Utah scoring started with his 21st of the year on the power-play to make it 2-1 9:23 into the first and 40 seconds after Utah gave up a shorthanded goal.

Rob Hennigar made it 3-2 1:53 into the second but 21 seconds later the Condors started their charge and eventually built a 7-2 lead.

Hennigar (one goal, two assists) and Vladimir Nikiforov (one goal, two assists) each had three-point nights for Utah.

Tim Verbeek continued to add to his career-high for goals in a season on his 25th 10:29 into the third period.

Utah is back in action Friday in Ontario. Face-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

The Grizzlies return home Wednesday, March 11 to host Idaho at 7:05 p.m.
