Grizzlies Prepare For Two Divisional Games

January 8, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies are entering a crucial part of their season, as seven of their next nine games will be away from the friendly confines of the E-Center where Utah has gone 10-1-0-1 since November 9th.

The difficult journey ahead for the Grizzlies begins Friday when the team plays the San Antonio Rampage in the SBC Center. Utah has won three of the first five match-ups with the Rampage including the last two games but both of those were played at home. Utah has made just one visit to San Antonio this season and fell to the Rampage 4-2 on December 4th.

Following the game in San Antonio, the Grizzlies will head north for a game versus the defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves in the Allstate Arena on Saturday. The Wolves got off to a rough start this year opening the season 3-9-1-2 but have since gone 14-6-0-1 and are now in contention in the West Division.

Utah is just 8-8-0-1 within their own division this season and with the lead the Houston Aeros have established in the West it is pivotal for Utah to begin making a good showing not only on the road but within their own division as well

NEXT TWO GAMES:

Jan. 10 Utah @ San Antonio 6:00 PM*
Jan. 11 Utah @ Chicago 6:00 PM* *Mountain Time
~all the action can be heard on ESPN Radio - AM 1230
