January 8, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Louisiana IceGators News Release

Lafayette, LA – The Louisiana IceGators will try and give head coach and vice president of hockey operations Dave Farrish his 400th career coaching victory Thursday when they play host to the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:05 p.m. at the Cajundome on "Elvis Night."

Farrish carries a 399-341-78-9 record into Thursday's game. With a victory, Farrish would become the third active ECHL coach with 400 overall coaching victories, trailing Wheeling's John Brophy (1,013) and Greenville's John Marks (657). Farrish sports a 120-44-18 in 2 ½ seasons with the IceGators for a sparkling .709 winning percentage and is in his 11th season overall as a head coach.

Any IceGators dressing up like Elvis or wearing Elvis items will be entered into a drawing to win a trip for two to Memphis, including airfare, hotel, tickets to Graceland and the Central Hockey League's Memphis RiverKings. Other prizes to be given away during the evening will be $20 towards the purchase of pork chops and two dozen jelly donuts. A special $1 Chuck-A-Hunk-Puck will raise money for St. Jude's, and the grand prize winner will win a diamond horseshoe ring, just like the one worn by Elvis.

Also, don't forget about Friday's jersey auction at Hooters at 7 p.m. The Mardi Gras jerseys that the IceGators wore on New Year's Eve will be auctioned off with proceeds going to youth roller hockey in Acadiana.
