Augusta Lynx News Release

AUGUSTA, GA - Augusta Lynx Trainer Brian Patafie made another notch in his belt on Tuesday night when he backed up Goaltender David Brumby in the Lynx 3-2 loss to the Pee Dee Pride at the Florence Civic Center. Patafie was called to duty when the Lynx were unable to secure an emergency back-up goalie with Colin Zulianello in Springfield and Curtis Cruikshank on the Injured Reserve.

Patafie was making his third professional career appearance as an Emergency Back-up. The former CIAU college goaltender appeared in two previous games with the Utica Mohawks of the NEHL during the 1978-79 season.

When asked if his goaltending style was more of a stand-up or butterfly, Patafie claimed his style was more of a "SCARED" style.

Patafie enjoyed his night as backup, "I'm going to leave the game for the younger guys now. I think I've hit my peak and I don't think I'll be backing up anymore. I got a little scared when we were down 3-0 and Coach Wilkie looked my way, I wasn't prepared for that."

The Lynx entertain the Florida Everblades over the weekend with games set for Saturday and Sunday. The first 1,500 in the door on Saturday will get Augusta Lynx Seat Cushions compliments of Petsch Respiratory Services. Face off is scheduled for 7:35 PM. For more information please contact the Lynx office at 724-4423.
