Utah Grizzlies News Release

Boise, Idaho - Utah Defenseman Ed Campbell played in his 700th professional game this evening, in the Grizzlies 4-3 overtime loss to the Steelheads in Idaho.

The Steelheads opened the scoring as Lance Galbraith deflected a Charlie Johnson slapshot past Utah's Rob McVicar. Both teams battled hard, but Idaho extended the lead to two with 22 seconds left in the period, a powerplay goal. The Grizzlies were outshot 14-9 in the frame.

The Grizzlies were a different team as they took the ice in the second. Ryan Kinasewich scored his first goal of the season as the Grizzlies 5 on 3 powerplay was about to expire. Just over a minute later, Matt Craig tied the game with another Grizzlies powerplay goal. Two late penalties set the stage for the Grizzlies to start the third period with a 5 on 3 advantage for 1 minute, 29 seconds.

47 seconds into the third, Herauf and Hill worked down low to set up Mike Wirll to score quickly on the two-man advantage, giving the Grizzlies a 3-2 lead. The Steelheads answered back at 10:40 as a Derek Nesbitt shot trickled between the legs of McVicar to be tucked in by Francis Wathier. The score remained deadlocked through the end of regulation, but with 13 seconds remaining the Grizzlies drew another penalty, this one would carry over into the overtime.

The Grizzlies put the pressure on with the man advantage, but came up empty handed forcing the game to a shootout. The Steelheads would score three times in the shootout to win the game.

The Grizzlies and Steelheads meet again Saturday at 7:10 p.m. and Sunday at 4:10 p.m. in Boise.
