(Sauget, IL) - The Florence Freedom (17-22) got on the board first but the Gateway Grizzlies (30-13) ran away with the game Wednesday night by a score of 9-2.

But the Grizzlies got to Florence starter Dave Middendorf (2-4) for three runs in the second. Richard Seigel started the inning with a double. Ben Waldrip would single Seigel to third and Xavier Macklin singled Seigel home. A sacrifice bunt moved both runners over and Michael Johnson doubled home Waldrip. Kale Kiser added a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1 in favor of the Grizzlies.
