Grizzlies Finish Trip 6-2-0-1, Falling Just Short 1-0 in Stockton

Stockton, California - The Stockton Thunder (24-20-0-5) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (24-18-3-5) 1-0 Saturday night at Stockton Arena as the Grizzlies ended their season-long nine-game road trip at 6-2-0-1.

Utah goaltender Aaron Dell (14-5-0-2) stopped 26 of 27 shots and Utah's penalty-kill went 7-7 against Stockton's top ranked ECHL power-play as the Grizzlies completed seven games in 11 nights in five different cities which included traveling from Colorado to Stockton on Saturday.

Stockton scored the lone goal in the contest with 2:32 left in the second period as Aaron Dell made a save on a screened shot that then careened in front and Stockton tapped it home.

Utah had some close near misses in the final three minutes as they looked to come from behind in the third period for the third time in the last four road games before a packed Stockton Arena crowd of 8,702 fans; who welcomed their team back home after a seven-game road trip.

The Grizzlies return home Monday for a 1:35 p.m. start for Maverik Monday on President's Day. Fans can get six tickets for $30 with a receipt from Maverik.

Wednesday is the next Wild $2 Wednesday with $2 hot dogs, $2 fries, $2 soft drinks, $2 draft beers and $5 student tickets against Idaho at 7 p.m.

Friday, February 28 is our eighth annual Pink in the Rink to support breast cancer awareness. The Grizzlies will be wearing pink specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off live after the game.
